Install the right client, then import your key.
Inside China, setup is not just "download a VPN app." App stores, APK sources, and captive networks can block the normal path. These guides cover the device-specific route.

The setup order that works inside China
Most failed installs happen because people start with the app store. Inside mainland China, the safer order is: get a subscription key first, choose the client path your device can actually install, then import the key and test on the network you are using now.
1. Create the key
IT CRP gives a free 1 GB key before payment. That lets you verify the route from your hotel, dorm, office, or mobile network before committing to a monthly plan.
2. Install the client
Happ is the default recommendation because it imports subscription links cleanly. iPhone users may need an international Apple ID; Android users may need the Happ APK or a manufacturer store.
3. Import, do not retype
Copying long VPN keys by hand causes avoidable errors. Use the QR code or subscription URL from the account flow whenever possible.
4. Test on the real network
A key that works on mobile data may still struggle on a locked-down hotel network. Use the hotel, university, and business-trip guides when the app is installed but connection still fails.
